For the moment I'm giving up on getting info from the Sheriff's Department. They maintain the dubious legal assessment that they can keep even case numbers from the public. I find this deeply troubling as that means that cases are in an NSA like black hole, that there is literally no way for the public to keep track of even just the number of the case.
The case number. The citizens of Clark County are not responsible enough to even know the case number--and nothing else. You are not responsible enough to know the identifying case number, according to the Sheriff.
I was told by the Sheriff's "information officer" I could seek legal redress but I don't have time for any more no-pay work, so I'm just trying to be like Elsa on this one and 'let it go'.
As long as public administrators continue to read Open Government laws in their lawyer, determinist, self-serving way, instead of really owning and living the intent of the laws, justice and information about what your government is doing will remain in the hands of those wealthy enough to hire lawyers.
